Our Little Day of Love

Valentines day this year was such a special one! Rick has always been the one to plan our Anniversary and Valentines day dates, but this year I asked him if I could take the reigns... and it was so fun!

First off we were both able to get some time off work! It was amazing! We slept in! Which was seriously the best valentines day treat... since lately there has been no shut eye in this house! When we woke up we made some breakfast together and then Rick had some classes to go to. Once Rick left... out came the crafts, the baking essentials, and a sappy itunes mix I made back in the day when we were dating :)

When Rick got home I had just finished all the preparations for our little date! So we popped in the movie "Valentines Day" exchanged some little presents and snuggled the afternoon away! Oh my heart it was wonderful! Next up our fantastically fun dinner! This was the first time we have not gone out on Valentines day and we loved it so much more! Our menu consisted of Edamame for the appetizer, homemade sushi rolls, Lobster tails, and Chocolate chip cheese cake for dessert! Those dang sushi rolls were delicious however we concluded we are not good sushi artists!
It was just a happy love filled day! I could go on and on about how much I love Rick because it is sure a lot! Until next year valentines day!

Moment of Love #11-#14

To help catch up on this ole bloggity blog here are my other days of love I did for rick...

I wont go into all the details... Rick has them, and that is most important,  so long story short each of the above pictures signified a milestone since living here such as: feeling so blessed and happy to overcome our trials, becoming hale parents, Our second anniversary in Honolulu, and the joy I feel in all our everyday moments!

This life we get to live with eachother is such an amazing and wonderful one!

Moment of Love #10

This was our first picture together on this little Island that we now live on. We had puffy eyes, lots of mosquito bites(hence the red nose I am proudly sporting), shaky stress hands, but most importantly we had each other. If I had not had Rick I would have left Hawaii in that first week. It was that hard. This was our first real adventure and boy was it going to be an ADVENTURE!
Someone could make a comedy movie about our first little week, where everything goes wrong and in the end they find happiness, love, and have learned a great lesson. I have since been so very very very grateful for that hard adventure. It taught us some amazing things one of which that when everything goes wrong it is really not that bad as long as you have someone by your side :)

Moment Of Love #9

This picture was taken at the Mesa Arizona Temple when Rick and I were on a little road trip to visit family. When I was little my family lived in Arizona and I have such fond memories of visiting this temple,  It has always held a special place in my heart. I had not been back to see it for a couple years and had wanted to show Rick. I can not describe the feeling I got when we arrived. I felt such an overwhelming peace and knew my heavenly father was so proud of me. I could see the little Alicia Bryce wondering what special things were inside that temple and now knowing just how wonderful and special it was it was all I could do to stop the sobs.
I am grateful for these amazing temples, I am blessed that they provide the way that families can be together forever, and I am happy that I could share this wonderful moment with the person here on earth I love the most!

Moment of Love #8

This picture was taken on our 1st wedding anniversary. I just always think of that first year as such a magical one! We grew together, we dreamed together, we became an unstoppable force of happiness together! To be quite honest our first wedding anniversary was not picture perfect... The AC in the room we stayed in at "our castle" broke, the movie was anything but romantic and made me cry, the breakfast made us sick, and when we went home we were tired and a little bit grumpy haha! However the following night redeemed itself... Rick brought me beautiful red roses, took me to a fancy dinner at the roof, we spent time at the wonderful temple we were married in, and spent a lot of time laughing and remembering that special day! Looking back I think it was perfect even with all the imperfections because I think it helps us remember that even when life is not picture perfect we still have each other and that is really all that matters!

Moment of Love #7

This was day one on our honeymoon. We stopped in Las Vegas on our way to California. Rick, being the sweetheart he is, had made me a special little note and planned a little adventure for each day of our honeymoon. This picture was on top of the Eiffel tower in Las Vegas. Rick told me he was sorry it was not the Eiffel tower in Paris but one day it would be! He then told me he would always try to make my dreams come true, even if it was just a little bit at a time :)

Moment of Love #6

This moment occurred on the happiest day of my life. I feel it requires little explanation :)
I married my best friend & I knew we would be together for eternity!

Moment of Love #5

This is one of my very favorite pictures of us because I feel it reflects the very special love we have for each other. We are part of one another, we are happiest together, & we can take on anything. I love this moment because even though we did not know everything about each other we thought we did. How little we actually knew. I am happy to say that everything we did not know about each other turned out to be everything we didn't know we needed!

Moment of Love #4

The day we took this picture I wrote in my journal "I know that whatever life throws at us as long as I have Rick by my side I can be happy no matter what!" I do not remember why that day had been so hard but I do remember coming over to see Rick telling him the drama of the day. Rick has this very special talent to make me be calm and laugh when I am really sad. I am ever so grateful for it!

Moment of Love #3

I am the hardest person to surprise...ever! My whole life I have ruined every surprise party, always knew what my christmas presents were, and was able to guess all the little secrets. However that face up there is me surprised. I knew Rick and I were going to get married but I was not expecting a proposal that night at all... mainly because I had planned a surprise dinner for Rick! We were supposed to meet and have a picnic at a little park close to Rick's work. I had really tried my best to make it romantic and special for him. However when Rick came I was worried something was wrong. He was not very talkative and if I asked him if he was okay he would just give me a little smooch and say yes. After we had our dinner he told me that we should take a picture in front of the sunset. I was walking over and did not notice him get down on one knee. When I did notice... haha I just started laughing (I guess that is my reaction to surprises!) and bent down and hugged him before he had the chance to say anything! After I let him talk he told me about how the Ring had been ready that day and he was so excited after he picked it up he just couldn't wait! The key to surprising me is spontaneity I guess :)

Moment of Love #2

This picture was taken in Rick's families office on a wonderful day in February of 2009! I remember going over to the Plehns this day and Rick answering the door all giddy! He took me to his family room and could not stop smiling. Finally he told me that he had been looking at engagement rings and if I wanted to show him some that I liked? Of course I said yes :) We sat in the office for hours and just discussed rings for both of us... weddings... and what it would be like (at this point we had not told anyone what we were planning)! From the very beginning Rick was always so thoughtful, we could talk about anything and everything, and he genuinely cared about my thoughts and opinions!

Moment of Love #1

This picture instantly fills my tummy with butterflies! Oh my heart! This was taken on our first Valentines day together. Sometimes it is hard to comprehend the joy, the happy, the smiles, the everything wonderful that this picture is. This was week 4 of our dating relationship and we already knew we were going to get married and be together forever. Life did a 180 in both our lives in during those 4 weeks. This was our first real adventure, we put our trust in heavenly father, and went with it! What an amazing life we were in store for! I was so happy then and I am even happier now!

14 Days Of Love

*If your name is Richard Benson Plehn stop reading this right now.... and I LOVE YOU*

Every February I do 14 days of love for Rick. It usually involves treats with cute sayings and what not but this year we have been trying to eat a little better and spend a little less! So in attempt to not discourage the MR. from a worthy goal I decided to do something different!
I took 14 pictures that remind me of some of my favorite moments together. Each day he can open an envelope and read about why that moment was so special to me and on some days there will even be a little adventure involved :)

Check back each day to see some favorite moments!
