I never blogged about last thanksgiving but it was quite the big production. Rick and I made our first turkey and not to mention meal for 14 people! This year was very different but I still loved it all the same!
We woke up to a face time call from my loving family making dinner and watching my crazy sisters shake whipping cream into butter in the most creative ways! ha
After touching base with my family we made our way over to the living room and watched the thanksgiving day parade while looking at the black friday ad's for the sake of tradition :) At 12 our ward was having a get together and we wanted to make sure we supported them! It was fun to be surrounded by so many friends!
Around 1pm we came back home and started preparing our turkey that had been in a yummy brine all night. I can honestly say this was the BEST turkey out of the 3 we have now made! It was sooo juicy and perfect!
We also made rolls (that were a huge accomplishment because I have never been able to get them to rise here in Hawaii), green bean casserole, strawberry jello salad, mash potatoes, and pies! for dinner time we went over to another Coordinator's house and had thanksgiving round two! around 7pm home we came and then we had pie fest with the RA's! It was a busy day but you know what, it gave me so much to be thankful for:
A lovely home, a beautiful warm island, great friends and co-workers, an oven, timers, the internet, a phone to call my mom for cooking tips, homemade whip cream, an adorable husband, family, the chance to be part of BYUH, and this wonderful gospel!
Thanksgiving you done good this year!
